SUMMARY:Duo Art Exhibition by Siriwat Siriwannaphruk and Athip Klomtong
DESCRIPTION:Explore Life in Fragility Through Paintings and Sculptures Bearing the Traces of TimeBy Siriwat Siriwannaphruk and Athip Klomtong \nThis duo exhibition brings together mixed media works that explore the quiet tension of living within fragile and shifting environments. Through painting and sculpture\, the artists reflect on the visible and invisible constraints that shape everyday life—structures that feel unstable\, undefined\, and often impermanent. \nA central motif in the exhibition is the “wall”—not just as a physical barrier\, but as a silent witness. It becomes a surface marked by time\, holding the traces of love\, dreams\, loss\, and memory. Over time\, its cracks speak: revealing hidden stories\, long buried and slowly resurfacing. \nSiriwat’s sculptural works use found objects\, non-permanent materials\, and line drawings to express the delicate balance of life in uncertain spaces. These pieces\, though lacking solidity\, remain self-supporting—mirroring the resilience of those navigating instability\, both social and personal. \nAthip’s paintings\, on the other hand\, blur the line between past and present. His textured surfaces capture fleeting moments and enduring imprints\, suggesting that while time moves forward\, the echoes of what once was are never truly erased. \nTogether\, the works invite viewers to pause and consider what remains—despite the passing of time.

SUMMARY:The invisible Hand: Solo Exhibition by Plub Boonsuan
DESCRIPTION:This series of mixed-media works explores the unseen states that exist beyond the physical world. Using the hand as a recurring symbol\, the artist reflects on the human body as a vessel for thought\, presence\, and meaning—bridging the internal and external. \nEach piece investigates the impact of environment\, social roles\, and personal responsibility on individual consciousness. Through layered textures and abstract forms\, the artworks reveal how these forces shape identity and perception\, both visibly and invisibly. \nThe result is a visual meditation on interconnectedness—how every action\, thought\, and experience leaves its mark\, forming a complex web between self and society.

SUMMARY:Faith Creates Art: Longing for the Traces of Ancestors by Archan Khunarup
DESCRIPTION:Inspired by the deep-rooted beliefs of the Lanna tradition\, Archan Khunarup’s contemporary paintings reflect a dialogue between past and present. Through depictions of rituals\, spiritual practices\, and everyday life\, his work explores the enduring faith that has shaped local identity across generations. \nAs modernization accelerates\, the distinctive heritage of Lanna art and painting faces quiet erasure. In response\, this series becomes both an act of preservation and a call to awareness—inviting viewers to reflect on what has been passed down and what might still be reclaimed. \nEach piece encourages a moment of stillness and recognition: a way to honor the beauty and meaning embedded in ancestral wisdom\, and to carry it forward with renewed understanding.

SUMMARY:Transformation: The ever changing Era Solo Exhibition by Rungsak Dokbua
DESCRIPTION:Rungsak’s abstract art carries a distinct identity—one shaped by form\, concept\, and a deep personal connection to the times in which it was created. While the themes shift with cultural and emotional currents\, his style remains unmistakably his own\, evolving over the years without losing its core. \nEach body of work reflects the artist’s response to new ideas\, personal feelings\, and the broader issues that shape public attention. His paintings are rooted in the present\, yet grounded in a lifetime of exploration\, technique\, and commitment to the creative process. \nFor Rungsak\, art-making is a continual rhythm—a way of life shaped by discipline\, curiosity\, and the desire to create work that resonates. This exhibition invites viewers into that process\, encouraging an open dialogue between artist and audience\, where aesthetics are shared\, questioned\, and reimagined without boundaries.

SUMMARY:Phenomenon Art Exhibition by Suparerk Nammontree
DESCRIPTION:Suparerk Nammontree (Kajohn)\, born and raised in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province\, works with painting and photography to explore the emotional ties between memory\, nature\, and place. Much of his inspiration comes from the shifting landscapes along the “Noi” River in his hometown—the still canals\, wide rice fields\, roadside trees\, and everyday rural life that quietly change over time. \nOne of his early works\, Nostalgia\, a large-scale landscape painting created during a year of heavy flooding\, marked the beginning of an ongoing exploration of nature’s unpredictability. From moments of stillness to sudden disruption\, Suparerk became drawn to natural “phenomena”—events that unfold abruptly and leave lasting impressions. \nIn this series\, he moves beyond realism\, using marks\, lines\, and color to express the emotional atmosphere of these moments. His paintings blur the line between clarity and abstraction\, mirroring the way memory works—sometimes vivid\, sometimes uncertain. The result invites viewers to reflect on their own experiences and find meaning in the changing rhythms of nature.

SUMMARY:Mak Muan Art's Fun Festival
DESCRIPTION:This exhibition traces the evolution of Pop Art from its rise in the early to mid-1960s to its influence today. Featuring works by artists who reflect society’s thought patterns through bold and unconventional contexts\, the show highlights Pop Art’s refusal to conform to a single visual style. SUMMARY:Gazing Solo Art Exhibition by Than Kyaw Htay
DESCRIPTION:Gazing is a series inspired by the artist’s journey to Shan State in 2007\, where he observed the everyday lives of the Pa-Oh people—recognizable by their colorful turbans and deep connection to the land. Through striking portraits set against quiet rural backdrops\, the works reflect a powerful sense of stillness\, isolation\, and endurance. \nFigures are often shown from behind or gazing into the distance—gestures that speak to the country’s ongoing political uncertainty and the sense of being turned away from the world. The vivid colors and warm outlines used in each piece carry a sense of longing and fragile hope\, even amid hardship. \nThese paintings also reference the continued struggles of ethnic minorities in Myanmar\, shaped by conflict and instability. By combining expressive color with textured techniques—scratched through the paint in homage to Van Gogh—the artist brings depth and movement to scenes that are both personal and political. \nGazing captures a quiet resistance and the enduring spirit of a people looking forward\, even when the path ahead remains uncertain.

SUMMARY:Lacquer home·com·ing
DESCRIPTION:The exhibition Lacquer – Homecoming explores the rich\, evolving presence of lacquer in everyday life—across cultures\, materials\, and time. From traditional techniques to contemporary innovation\, the show brings together artworks and functional objects that reflect lacquer’s place in both history and daily living. \nRooted in the idea of “homecoming”—a return to something familiar yet rediscovered—the exhibition invites visitors to consider lacquer not just as an artistic medium\, but as part of a broader\, lived experience. Whether derived from natural or synthetic sources\, lacquer surrounds us in subtle\, often overlooked ways. This exhibition brings it into focus. \nLacquer – Homecoming is part of an ongoing curatorial initiative to establish Chiang Mai as a center for lacquer knowledge and artistic exchange. Following the 2023 exhibition Arrow of Time\, this project continues to build a platform where craft\, culture\, and curiosity meet. \nThrough a thoughtful\, interdisciplinary approach\, the exhibition blends historical narratives with contemporary interpretations. It encourages visitors to reflect on the many forms lacquer takes—from the objects we use\, to the stories they carry—and to rediscover its beauty in new\, personal ways. \nUltimately\, the exhibition is an invitation: to connect\, to reflect\, and to return—through art—to the quiet presence of lacquer in our lives.

SUMMARY:The Arrow of Time
DESCRIPTION:Lacquer in LayersAn immersive\, three-floor exploration of lacquer—past\, present\, and material origin. \nThis multi-level exhibition invites visitors to journey through the evolving story of lacquer\, beginning with its contemporary artistic expressions and tracing back to its natural source: the lacquer tree. Each floor of the venue offers a unique lens on lacquer’s role in art\, culture\, and everyday life. \n1st Floor – Contemporary TransformationThe first floor features striking lacquer artworks by three Vietnamese artists whose practices bridge tradition and innovation. Once considered primarily a craft medium\, lacquer here is elevated into contemporary fine art\, marking a critical turning point in its evolution. \n2nd Floor – Cultural HeritageMoving up\, the second floor delves into the historical and cultural significance of lacquer across the Lanna Kingdom\, Burmese Mandalay\, Shan\, and Siamese traditions. Through patterns\, objects\, and storytelling\, this display reveals the shared lineage and regional connections woven through lacquer’s design and daily use. \n3rd Floor – Back to the SourceThe top floor brings visitors face-to-face with the lacquer tree itself. The exhibition compares two methods of sap collection: the traditional techniques of the Karen hill tribe and the refined processes developed through academic study. This floor reconnects lacquer art to its ecological roots\, completing the cycle from material to masterpiece. \nTogether\, these three layers offer a rare\, holistic look at lacquer—honoring its heritage\, celebrating its transformation\, and grounding it in the living landscape from which it originates.

SUMMARY:Chiang Mai Art Connecting (CMAC)
DESCRIPTION:An Ongoing Movement of Art and Exchange \nLaunched in late 2019\, Chiangmai Art Connecting (CMAC) began as an extension of Hanoi Art Connecting\, founded by Trinh Tuan of Asian Art Link (AAL). Initiated by La Luna Gallery as part of its founding vision\, CMAC-I aimed to create a platform for artists across Southeast Asia to explore shared creativity and express complex emotions through visual language—often saying what words cannot. \nIn its inaugural edition\, 19 artists came together\, supported by AAL\, Bluechips Microhouse\, and La Luna Gallery. Workshops and collaborative art-making set the tone for what would become a recurring international initiative. However\, just as the project was gaining momentum\, the COVID-19 pandemic brought the world—and CMAC—to a pause. \nIn September 2020\, amidst ongoing restrictions\, La Luna Gallery hosted “Reconnecting”\, a local exhibition that revived CMAC’s core purpose: fostering human connection through art. The original CMAC-I collection continued to be shown in rotation\, keeping the spirit of exchange alive. \nWith global conditions improving\, CMAC-II returned in 2023 under the theme “How the World Changed After the Pandemic.” This edition welcomed 35 artists from Southeast Asia\, East Asia\, South Asia\, and parts of Europe\, expanding both the scope and impact of the project. Alongside exhibitions\, lacquer painting demonstrations by AAL members deepened CMAC’s commitment to traditional craft and cultural sharing. \nFollowing overwhelmingly positive feedback and increased engagement from artists and visitors alike\, the organizing team—AAL\, Bluechips Microhouse\, La Luna Gallery\, and Art Connecting—announced plans for CMAC-III\, scheduled for November 2025. From this edition forward\, CMAC will adopt a biennial format\, continuing to bring artists together under evolving themes that spark dialogue\, collaboration\, and cross-cultural understanding.
